Most people don’t realize that they need an air purifier until there is a problem. This could be due to wildfires, floods in the home, hurricanes, other natural disasters, and even personal health problems such as allergies, asthma, and Covid. For me, the trigger was allergies.
Airborne allergies always affected my everyday life in some small way. But dog dander, even dog dander from “hypoallergenic dogs” affects me in a big way. Anyone with severe dog dander allergies knows that secluding the dog from the room during a lesson does nothing to solve the problem. The dander is in the air, and it is everywhere that was ever occupied by the dog, and it goes through the vents too. For me, a one hour session of Pilates meant feeling sick with lung congestion for two weeks at least. My allergist suggested either taking antihistamines and inhalers or stopping Pilates lessons at Erica’s studio. I did not want to lose Erica as my Pilates teacher.
